The Honor a Local Hero campaign is a national call to recognize those standing on the front lines of community change. We are looking for the mentors, the healers, and the visionaries who refuse to let tragedy have the final word.

We are looking for individuals who embody the spirit of resilience and community. Nominees should demonstrate a consistent commitment to uplifting others.

Service

Individuals dedicated to selfless acts of kindness, mentorship, and providing resources to those who need them most.

Impact

A person whose actions have created measurable, positive change in the lives of youth and families within our neighborhood.

  • You must be a resident of the local community to vote.
  • Votes are monitored for authenticity and fairness.
  • Voters must be at least 13 years old.
  • Voting closes precisely at midnight on the deadline date.

Initiative FAQ

Who can be nominated as a Local Hero?

Anyone living or working within our local community who has shown exceptional courage, leadership, or dedication to improving the lives of others can be nominated. This includes mentors, educators, healthcare workers, and community organizers.

How does the voting process work?

Once the nomination window closes, a panel selects the top finalists. Public voting will then open on this site. You can vote once per day during the official voting period.

When will the winners be announced?

Winners will be celebrated at the upcoming Stop the Funeral: The Remix event. Please refer to our Important Dates timeline for specific dates and venue information.
